Optoma Pico DLP Projector

"Is that a projector in your pocket?"

"Why yes, it is."

Optoma unveiled the new Pico DLP projector priced at just $399. The picture quality wasn't extraordinary, only acceptable, but it wasn’t so much the unit’s performance but its size that caught our attention. At only 2"W x 4.1"L x 0.7"H, it is about the size of a smart phone or personal media player. It utilizes a DLP chip with a resolution of 480 x 320 and weighs only 4 ounces. The Pico ships with an iPod adapter and two rechargeable lithium ion batteries that can each power the unit for up to two hours. With the Pico you can now project images from a laptop with a unit that fits in your shirt pocket. Or for an even more compact system, you can use something like a smartphone or iPod as a source.

Jon Grodem of Optoma projects the television show The Office from an iPod onto his shirt using the Pico projector.
