Focus Audio

Sometimes looks and sound can be very deceiving.

After seeing and listening to the Focus FC9 loudspeakers, we were asked how much we thought they cost. We thought that they might be priced somewhere in the $4000 range based on their full, rich sound...,

...real-wood veneer, top-quality fit'n'finish, and premium drivers. We were surprised to learn that they retail for only $1800 per pair!

Even though they were placed along the long wall of a relatively small hotel room, they threw a huge soundstage with precise imaging. Vocals seemed to hang in midair, and Pachelbel’s Canon from the FIM K2 HD sampler CD sounded sublime. All in all, we were impressed with this standout for performance and value.

A Naim CDX2 CD player ($5350) and Supernait integrated amplifier ($4950) were used to drive the FC9s, along with Argento Audio cables.
