200910_stevemorseOn November 17, Out Standing in Their Field, the new studio album by The Steve Morse Band, will be released domestically in the US by Eagle Rock. The critically acclaimed set was released abroad in September and has been available in the US only as an import. The entirely instrumental album is the 12th for the band and features guitarist Morse with bassist David LaRue and drummer Van Romaine.

Morse got his start in the 1970s with the Dixie Dregs and he’s spent the last 16 years playing with Deep Purple, while fronting his own band. Press sources call the music on Out Standing in Their Field as "a diverse sound spectrum, twisting together elements of rock, country, jazz, funk and classical." The release is tied into a North American tour that began on October 15 in Annapolis, Maryland, and will end on Halloween in Atlanta.
